Something new

In an empty warehouse at the foot of the iconic Newport Bridge- right next to a liquor store- two remarkable boats are taking shape. The totally fresh and innovative e-boat by Cay Electronics is on one side, while on the other, a stealth classic drawn by Matt Smith of Barrington, RI. is ready to receive deck planks.

Don’t let the classic lines and appearance of this little beauty fool you. She might look antique above the water line, but she is all business below [and above if you look closely]. The underwater foil sections are bracketed by vacuum bagged carbon & kevlar. The rig is by Hall Spars of Bristol, RI. The sail plan is aggressive, and she will be fitted with an electric pod drive. Look for her this summer in Newport.

Sailing Anarchy has more on this boat. I love this little boat, may have to build one myself one day.
