mxNext

If you saw the earlier post, here is this little wicked racer on the water. Story below:

Truthfully, today was one of the most exciting days in a sailing career that spans more than 35 years on the water. We launched mxNext, the NEXT generation of super fast, super fun skiffs. My old knees are a bit wonky, but with a steady breeze blowing down Marblehead harbor I got to be the test pilot. The boat is pure sex; less than a 100lbs of clear coat carbon, a ton of sail area and a hiking platform that gets the bum over the rail and far from the centerline and you have a machine that can only go fast. And go fast it did… I sheeted it on and hiked as far out as I could, knees not withstanding. So far so good until I eased the sheets and bore away. The mxNext took off with me hanging on hoping to not embarrass myself. This boat is simply amazing, easy to handle and fun to sail despite the winter-like temperatures still plaguing the northeast United States.
