Scavenger hunt...

This past weekend I participated in a Scavenger Hunt, you know what that is… You are given a list of things to find or get and have to finish by a certain time. Of course this being Portland, it is not uncommon to find people running around doing somethings like this…

So at the appointed time we were off with the list, some items were easy to work out, others would be a little harder.. Some of the things were to find a specific bike rack and count the cars on it. The rack was in the shape of a local bridge and the bridge had cars on it… Another was to count the number of railroad rails used in a park art installation, another was the name of the artist of a set of columns and so on.

What was hard was we needed to find a fortune cookie that had a fortune with the word Happy in it. A team bought an entire large bag and didn't find one. Also to have a picture taken with a person over the age of 85, and one of the hardest was to get a receipt for an item purchase with the lowest price possible. We bought a single grape at a market, it cost 4 cents… (Wasn’t the lowest winner, someone bought a carrot for a penny)

So after running around for an hour and a half we had everything, but the last thing was we had to guess a specific beer (taste test which I was the only winner) and play a round of Bache Ball (we won that test). After all the teams finished and the score added up, we came in second… We missed to items, another team only missed one.... But it was fun and everyone we met were good sports and played along and helped us..
