Oakland California is well-known for its public outrage against injustice. But only certain injustice.
Unfortunately, it’s also becoming well-known for its silence against the murderers of innocents, including children. Shooting deaths don’t draw the kind of righteous indignation they do outside the city — unless the killer is an easy target, like a Bart cop.
We need to light the fire of outrage not only against elected officials who can’t run their own meetings let alone prioritize city services like police, but against the murderers roaming our city.
