The SF Bay in summer is a great place to sail but not a great place to swim. Here we see a five member crew become a three member crew when a couple get lost off the back of a Melges 24. Winds can be a steady 20 knots and go up to 30, so sailing takes some skill in the Bay, plus all the ferry and ship traffic. But this is a great sailing location and there are many races every week.
