Last week I had to travel to San Diego for a conference, here are a few
sights and activities I did.
Food...
Of course Mexican food is a must... I was able to stop by a number of old places, one was Nati's. Nati's is an institution in Ocean Beach, been there since 1960 and hasn't changed. The food is good and not the same stuff you find in the local taco shops. They have a small patio and while I was there eating some of the local Green Parrots flew by and stopped in a palm tree. The squawks of the birds made it feel like you were in Mexico, but the occasional jet taking off made that go away... Nati's is a block off the main drag of New Port, look it up and try it.
I also stopped at a taco shop on another occasion for lunch, Acapulco Gold on Washington Street is a good choice for a taco shop, good versions of common taco shop food. Of course there are other non-Mexican foods like Carne Asada French Fries. But roast chilis can be found usually at the counter or at the salsa bar.
