Artemis Racing

Artemis Racing is scheduled to race Emirates Team New Zealand tomorrow in Round Robin 3 of the Louis Vuitton Cup, then race Luna Rossa on Saturday. But unless there's divine intervention, Artemis will be a no-show at both contests. There is hope, however, that the Swedish-backed team will be out on the Cityfront course soon.

The team announced this week that they'd completed "comprehensive structural testing" of the big cat over the weekend, and we understand they are now involved in final assembly. Artemis designers, engineers and shore staff have reportedly been working "around the clock" for the past two months, and we don't doubt it.
Needless to say, the crew, led by helmsman Nathan Outteridge and skipper/tactician Iain Percy, must be chomping at the bit to get out on the course. And they will likely be forced to do so with relatively little time to test this second-generation warhorse. Even if they take a pass on all LVC round robin races this month, they must compete in the LVC Semi-Finals which begin August 6. Wish them the best of luck — and we're eager to see what their new speed machine can do.
