Rand Paul's campaign manager jumps to Rubio
By ELIZA COLLINS
Rand Paul’s campaign manager just joined Marco Rubio’s presidential campaign.
Chip Englander will now be senior adviser to the Florida senator in charge of the Midwest, Rubio's campaign confirmed to POLITICO Wednesday. The Wall Street Journal first reported the news.
Englander, who also ran the show for Illinois Gov. Bruce Rauner’s campaign in 2014, is making the jump after Paul dropped out of the White House race last week, saying he would shift his focus to his Senate re-election campaign.
The political operative is joining Rubio's campaign after it suffered a disappointing loss in New Hampshire on Tuesday, finishing fifth in the state. Rubio chalked up the poor result to his subpar debate performance last Saturday, pledging such a bumble would not happen again.
