Rick Perry hints at a comeback

Rick Perry did not exactly close the door on the possibility of another go at the presidency in 2016 during a contested convention in an interview with CNN.

Appearing on CNN's "Erin Burnett OutFront," Perry, who supports his fellow Texan Ted Cruz, was asked if the final charge against him being dropped could lead him back into the race, as conservative pundit Erick Erickson suggested in a tweet Wednesday.

“Well, Erick Erickson is a wonderful fella, but the fact of the matter is, I think this campaign — if there is an odd twist to it, it will be no one gets enough of the … delegates to get the nomination and you go to a brokered convention," Perry said in an interview with CNN's Erin Burnett. "At that particular point in time it’s a whole new ballgame for everyone."

Burnett then asked to clarify, “And that could be a new ball game for you, depending on what happens?”

“Everyone," Perry said, as the interview wrapped.
