Cruz on Bush

Bush congratulates Cruz on Iowa win

By Nolan D. McCaskill

Jeb Bush on Tuesday congratulated Ted Cruz on winning the Iowa caucuses but is viewing New Hampshire as an opportunity to “reset the race.”

“You know, I congratulate Ted Cruz for his victory,” Bush told “Fox & Friends.” “Hard-earned, well-fought and I congratulate him.”

Bush finished sixth in Iowa, with less than 3 percent support while earning one delegate. The former Florida governor is fourth in New Hampshire, according to a RealClearPolitics average of state polls. Bush has an average of 10.3 percent support — about 1 percent behind Ted Cruz and John Kasich, who are tied for second place, but about 1 percent ahead of Marco Rubio.

“Now we come to New Hampshire, where New Hampshire has a tendency to reset the race,” Bush said. “And I think what people are going to want is someone with a proven record, proven leader, someone who has detailed plans to fix the mess in Washington, and that’s my case here.”

New Hampshire will hold its first-in-the-nation primary next Tuesday.
