ORMA 60

A few contenders will try their hand at the prestigious overall race record during this summer’s busy Transpac, and if there’s any decent weather, the bar should get quite a bit higher. Syd Fisher has his 100′ Ragamuffin entered, while the same Maserati turbo VO 70 that Giovanni Soldini shattered the NY-SF record with is ready to rock, though watch captain and bosun Ryan Breymaier has jumped over to a much faster boat. While the 70 and 100 battle for monohull honors, Breymaier’s got a new ride; John Sangmeister’s turbo’d ORMA 60 Tritium Racing (ex-Bonduelle, ex-Gitana XII, ex-Artemis (training boat)). They’ve done some major surgery to the boat and spared no expense on talent, and the remaining time up until the race will be spent doing shit like in the video above.
