Megyn Kelly: I'd 'absolutely' have Trump on my show

If Donald Trump were to suddenly reverse course and ask to be on Megyn Kelly's show, the Fox News host would "absolutely" have him on, she says.

Kelly, who has faced the wrath of the Republican presidential front-runner ever since a contentious exchange during last August's debate, also lamented the "coarsening" of American political discourse during a sit-down with Charlie Rose. "Listen, it was never a tea party here," she qualified, referring to political discourse over American history.

Asked whether one could trace their falling-out to Kelly's questioning during the first Fox News debate about Trump's derogatory comments about women, Kelly replied, "Yes, it did. Clearly. Because Trump and I really didn’t have a relationship at all prior to that.”

“I think it’s very clear to him that he cannot control the editorial on my show or from me in a debate or other setting," she said in the clip from "CBS This Morning" that aired Friday, declining to speculate further on why Trump might be after her.

When Rose referred to Trump's name-calling, Kelly commented that is an area where "if he could pull himself back in, you know, just somewhat, would be so effective."

"He’s already been so effective. He could be so much more effective," she said.
