Sen. Mark Kelly bashes Trump on national security
If we “make him the commander-in-chief, the only suckers would be us.”

Sen. Mark Kelly (D-Ariz.) made a forceful national security-centric case to elect Kamala Harris during his primetime address at the DNC.
“Trump thinks that Americans who have made the ultimate sacrifice are suckers and losers. Losers,” said Kelly, who was a finalist for the vice presidential slot that ultimately went to Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz. “If we fall for that, again, and make him the commander-in-chief the only suckers would be us.”
“The world laughs at Trump, literally, but it’s not funny,” the Arizona Democrat added. “The threats we face are too serious.”
Kelly said the election lands at a crucial time around the world with dictators in Russia, China and Iran, among other hotspots, paying close attention to how the U.S. votes.
He spoke shortly after he appeared alongside his wife, former Rep. Gabby Giffords (D-Ariz.), who spoke of her recovery from an attempted assassination.
