‘Fox & Friends’ Mocked for Covering ‘Emoji Cheeseburger Crisis’ as Paul Manafort Indictment Broke

While CNN and MSNBC broke into coverage Mondah the moment news came over the wire that former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort would face a 12-count federal indigment, Fox News’ “Fox & Friends” didn’t immediately pick up the story and instead stayed on its coverage of the “emoji cheeseburger crisis at Google.”

And Twitter has had a field day with the news judgment.

“Switched to Fox and Friends and they were literally talking about where to put the cheese on a cheeseburger,” wrote one commenter.

The issue centered on the placement of the cheese on Google’s cheeseburger emoji, with the morning hosts taking issue with the cheese landing below the meat on the site’s version of the icon.

“I Googled it and it showed that the cheese should be on top of the burger,” said co-host Steve Doocy.

“Why don’t we have cheeseburgers to try it out,” said show meteorologist Janice Dean.

“I’m for that!” said Doocy.
