Xi Jinping funny... Makes Joke about China no steal....

Chinese president, visiting U.S., makes a 'House of Cards' joke

By Nick Gass

Chinese President Xi Jinping is no Frank Underwood, apparently.

In a speech to a Seattle audience of business executives on cybercrime ahead of his visit to Washington, D.C., later this week, the Chinese president made the interesting reference to Kevin Spacey's character on the Netflix series "House of Cards" in discussing how his campaign against corruption was aimed at stamping out graft, not political opponents. (Many U.S.-based China analysts disagree.)

"In this case, there is no 'House of Cards,'" Xi said, according to The New York Times. He also made reference to arguably the most famous film about the Emerald City, remarking that the 1993 romantic comedy "Sleepless in Seattle" made the Pacific Northwest town "almost a household name in China."

In his prepared remarks, Xi urged cooperation between the U.S. and China on cybercrime, saying that China is ready to engage in high-level dialogues. (Steal more technology)

"China is a strong defender of cybersecurity.(Steal more from others by hacking) China is also a victim of hacking attacks. The Chinese government will not, in any way, participate, encourage or support the theft of commercial secrets by anyone," Xi told an audience that included Satya Nadella, Microsoft's chief executive, as well as Microsoft founder Bill Gates, according to reports.

Xi and Chinese first lady Peng Liyuan will arrive in the town of Underwood and Doug Stamper on Thursday, where they will meet with President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama. A state dinner is scheduled for Friday evening.
