Trump feuds with conservative commentator Rich Lowry
By Nick Gass
Donald Trump has a new beef.
This time, it's with conservative commentator Rich Lowry who remarked on Fox News on Wednesday night that Carly Fiorina "cut his balls off with the precision of a surgeon" during last week's primary debate.
Trump immediately fired back on Twitter.
"Incompetent @RichLowry lost it tonight on @FoxNews. He should not be allowed on TV and the FCC should fine him!" the Republican presidential candidate wrote of Lowry's appearance on "The Kelly File." He then asked the network for another apology, this time "for allowing clueless pundit @RichLowry to use such foul language on TV. Unheard of!"
Lowry, who is also a regular columnist for POLITICO, responded to Trump's barbs.
"I mean you had this loser on last night, this guy Lowry, I'd never even heard of him. He was so out of control, lost control of himself. It was actually sad," Trump said in a phone interview with MSNBC's "Morning Joe" on Thursday. "I guess you gotta take a guy like that off the air. I watched it, actually."
The billionaire mogul dismissed the notion from host Joe Scarborough that he should ignore chatter from conservative pundits.
"Well I think that a lot of people would not ignore," he said. "I have this thing called Twitter and Facebook, which is amazing, actually. It's like owning The New York Times without the losses."
With Twitter and Facebook, "you're able to fight back," he explained.
"In the old days, you didn't have that. What would you do? Call a press conference to announce that somebody lost control of his mind on television last night on television last night? You couldn't do that," Trump added.
