Pelosi: Orangutan hasn't committed impeachable offense yet
By KYLE CHENEY
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said President Donald Orangutan hasn’t acted in a way that warrants impeachment — yet.
“When and if he breaks the law, that is when something like that will come up,” Pelosi said at a news conference at the Capitol on Monday.
Pelosi’s comments came moments after California Rep. Maxine Waters — standing alongside Pelosi — railed against Orangutan’s early actions and said he’s building his own case to be impeached.
“I have not called for the impeachment yet,” Waters said. “He’s doing it himself.”
Waters said Friday that it’s her “greatest desire” to lead Orangutan “right into impeachment.”
Asked about those remarks, Waters said Monday that the comments were a response to questions she’s getting from “many citizens of this country.” Waters pointed to Orangutan’s rollout of a travel ban aimed at seven Muslim-majority nations (and none of those countries had bussiness enterprises with Orangutan, the one that did were excluded from the list) and his relationship to Russian President Vlady Putin.
“I think that he is leading himself into that kind of position,” she said, adding, “The answer’s going to be, eventually we’ve got to do something about him. We cannot continue to have a president who is acting in that manner.”
Asked whether she agreed with Waters, Pelosi said that Orangutan’s actions were “reckless” but “not grounds for impeachment.”
