MAVEN launch

MAVEN's flight continues to go well. The United Launch Alliance Atlas V rocket's first-stage booster burned out on time and separated from the vehicle, allowing the Centaur upper stage to assume the task of boosting the Mars-bound spacecraft. The payload fairing that protected MAVEN during the first few minutes of flight has been jettisoned.
