The "barge" one more time..

This maybe the last installment on the home built 65 foot catamaran in San Francisco. At this time the owner and builder is trying to sell the beast. As the story goes, he is advertising it for sale at first an insane amount but now the price is reduced. Winter is approaching and the thing has no motor, heat, can't sail and is so big that it can't anchor properly. The 'boat' has become a joke in the area and most people are waiting for it to sink and get blown onto the rocks.

A lot of people have visions of building a boat and sailing calm beautiful waters in the Pacific, some actually do this, but this guy was so sure of himself that he would not take any help on building or design, he lied and took advantage of the few people who went out of their way to help him and he now seems to think it was a conspiracy to do him in.

In any case, if he sells the thing or if it sinks, I may write about it, but it is tiring and a waste to bother with this story any more. Like so many others, we just wish the boat would go away, preferably in a clean environmentally manor... But more than likely, it will end with the boat half sunk and being salvaged at tax payers expense....
