Fire Dancer |
So the US Budget crisis is a drag, so to change subjects for
a few minutes and think of something else I am putting up a few pictures of my
weekend. On Saturday night I went with a few friends out to one of the area
farms that makes a corn maze and pumpkin patch. If you have never been in a
corn maze, it is a field of corn with paths cut through, or not planted, which
allows you to wonder around and through it. This maze had several areas to
enjoy entertainment. There was a large tent with a cover band playing Johnny
Cash music, a tent showing a movie, fire dancers and wondering musicians. Of
course it was night so it was dark, which makes it more of a challenge to
wonder through.

On Sunday, the morning brought a wonderful sunny sky and a
run through the trees was in order. On top of one of the hills is an old house
which has a wonderful view. To get there I ran a trail, about three miles one
way, through the arboretum and tree covered hill. The view was great and the temperature
was a very nice running 65 degrees. After the run I went down to the river for
lunch at a local restaurant, nice view of the boats and people enjoying the
sun.
