"They just had a bad moment," Trump says of NATO's refusal to take part in Iran war

US President Donald Trump has continued to speak positively about the NATO alliance today, despite bashing some member countries just this morning, telling journalists a short while ago that NATO countries “just had a bad moment” when they refused to take part in the US and Israel’s war with Iran.
When asked if the US would be there for countries like Spain, Italy and the United Kingdom if they were attacked, despite the fact that they refused to join the war, Trump said: “Spain has been very bad, but you know … Italy has been good, and almost all of the countries have been good. They just had a bad moment.”
The US leader was effusive in describing the meetings he had with NATO members in Ankara earlier today, saying “if there’s one word that comes out of today, it’s unification. I’ve never seen anything like it.”
“Every one of those countries, they love us, they love each other. That was tremendous unification. It was a nice thing to say,” Trump said.
