Trump concedes some in GOP are “a little bit unhappy” with possibility of US military intervention in Iran

President Donald Trump conceded that there are factions of his supporters who do not support US military intervention in Iran.
“I may have some people that are a little bit unhappy now, but I have some people that are very happy. Then I have people outside of the base that can’t believe that this is happening, they’re so happy,” Trump said.
CNN has reported that Trump is navigating competing forces within his own party.
Pressed on concerns from his supporters about potential US involvement in a lengthy war, Trump said, “Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon. I’m not looking long term, short term. And I’ve been saying that for 20 years.”
Earlier, GOP Rep. Tim Burchett said that he wanted to see “very little” US involvement in the conflict. “We don’t need another endless war in the Middle East,” the Tennessee lawmaker told CNN.
