Federal judge blocks dismantling of USAID, saying it "likely violated" the Constitution

A federal judge has indefinitely blocked the dismantling of US Agency for International Development, a major win for groups broadly challenging Elon Musk’s role in the federal government.

The judge also cut off staffers from the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) from accessing sensitive personal data kept by the agency.

“The court finds that Defendants’ unilateral actions to shut down USAID likely violated the United States Constitution,” Judge Theodore D. Chuang of the US District Court in Maryland said.
