I took a little trip to Palm Spring this last weekend for a party and while I was there I took a short side trip up to Joshua Tree National Monument and did a little hiking. I have not been to the park for many years so it was nice to see it again. The trees of course are quite strange looking and the terrain is dry desert, but it does have a unique feel. This is a great time of year to go, the temperatures are very reasonable. In the summer it can be 120 degrees (48C) and the sun just bakes everything, now it is pleasant and with a breeze it is no problem at all.
