‘I know how to take on predators': Kamala attacks Trump’s ‘rap sheet’ at South Carolina convention

Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., ramped up her attacks on President Donald Trump during a speech at the 2019 South Carolina Democratic Convention Saturday morning.
While speaking to the Palmetto State Democrats, the 2020 candidate suggested that Trump wants to take America back to a time before the civil rights movement and the Supreme Court's Roe vs. Wade decision.
"We have in this White House a president who says he wants to make America great again, but what does that mean?" Harris asked the crowd. "Does that mean he wants to take us back to before schools were integrated? Does that mean he wants to take us back to before the Voting Rights Act was enacted? Does that mean he wants to take us back before the Civil Rights Act was enacted? Does he mean he wants to take us back before Roe v. Wade was enacted?"
The senator received a huge applause after her Roe v. Wade line, and emphatically proclaimed, "We're not going back!" as the crowd continued to cheer.
Harris, who served as District Attorney of San Francisco and Attorney General of California, then stated that Trump has a "rap sheet" and the eventual Democratic nominee must be able to "prosecute" the president in the general election.
"I know how to take on predators," she said before discussing her work as a prosecutor. "We need somebody on our stage, when it comes time for that general election, who knows how to recognize a rap sheet when they see it and prosecute the case."
According to Harris, Trump's rap sheet includes the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017, his soybean and steel tariffs, and his "embrace" of Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong Un, among other things.
Harris was one of over 20 Democratic presidential candidates who attended the South Carolina Democratic Convention this weekend.
