'A bouquet to Putin': Pelosi, Dems unload on GOP memo release
By Eric Ting
In a Tweet Friday, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi called President Donald Trump's decision to release a memo written by House Intelligence Committee chairman Devin Nunes a "bouquet to his friend Putin."
"@realDonaldTrump has surrendered his constitutional responsibility as Commander-in-Chief by releasing Nunes' unredacted, classified memo," Pelosi tweeted Friday. "His decision undermines our national security and is a bouquet to his friend Putin."
A number of other Democrats echoed similar sentiments.
"President Trump and his allies in Congress are stopping at nothing to interfere with the special counsel's Russia probe," Sen. Cory Booker of New Jersey tweeted. "Even if it means undermining American national security, and degrading the rule of law."
House Intelligence Committee ranking member Adam Schiff, who accused Nunes of altering the committee-approved memo before sending it to the White House, also weighed in on Twitter.
"The President's decision to publicly release a misleading memo attacking DOJ & FBI is a transparent attempt to discredit these institutions and undermine Mueller's probe," Schiff tweeted.
