Trump Jr. jokes of swiping daughter's candy 'to teach her about socialism'

Donald Trump Jr., the eldest son of President Donald Trump, cracked that he planned to swipe half of his 3-year-old daughter's Halloween candy Tuesday because it's never too "early to teach her about socialism."

"I’m going to take half of Chloe’s candy tonight & give it to some kid who sat at home. It’s never to early to teach her about socialism," Trump Jr. tweeted, confusing "to early" with "too early."

The post was accompanied by an image of his daughter, Chloe Trump, with a half-empty bag of Halloween candy.

Earlier Tuesday, Trump Jr. also poked fun at Hillary Clinton, his father's former electoral foe, for jokingly saying during a promotional appearance for her new book, "What Happened," in Chicago that she would contemplate dressing up as president for the holiday.

"That’s cute. She can borrow my @realDonaldTrump mask," Trump Jr. said in response to Clinton's comments.

Asked what she might dress up as for Halloween on Tuesday, Clinton told event goers in Illinois on Monday: "I'll maybe come as the president."

Trump Jr. in the past has accused Democrats of being socialists. After Republican congressional candidates won a string of special election bouts, the president's oldest son tweeted: "Media headlines this week should be: Democrats go 0-4 in special elections ... voters reject socialism."
