The Pentagon is investigating the behavior of military officers during President Donald Trump's 12-day trip to Asia earlier this month, officials told the Washington Post Tuesday, with three personnel reassigned from their White House jobs due to allegations of improper contact with foreign women.
The three military personnel reportedly being probed work for the White House Communications Agency, a military support unit that aids the President Trump, Vice President Mike Pence and the Secret Service by providing them with secure communications, the Post reported, citing officials close to the matter
“We are aware of the incident, and it is currently under investigation,” Matt Wright, a spokesperson for the Department of Defense, told the Post, confirming the existing of the Pentagon investigation.
The non-commissioned officers are under the microscope for allegedly breaking curfew while the president visited Vietnam as a part of his five-nation diplomatic tour in Asia.
The president returned from the overseas trip last Tuesday.
