New Years Eve

So I was invited to a friends home on New Years Eve, he is German and his girl friend was flying back to town that evening. He wanted to surprise her so he planed a little party. The one thing he wanted to do is a traditional drink made from spiced wine and burning sugar. The wine is simmered, then a cone of sugar is coated with Rum and set on fire. The sugar 'cooks' and melts into the wine making a sweet and spicy drink. Was good but I found it a little too sweet, in any case we all had a great time.
