It probably took a while for the opportunity to take this picture... It is rare to have a clear day in LA, usually it is after a rain storm and the smog is washed out of the air. Then the mountains shine as in this picture. In winter the San Gabriel Mountains are snow covered (in most winters there is some) and the backdrop is quite spectacular. But on most days, you never see the mountains and don't even know they are there...
