Trump shares bizarre AI tiger video in late-night spree after posting fatal attack footage

Story by Siladitya Ray

President Donald Trump posted an AI-generated video of himself chasing and playing with a tiger as part of a flurry of late-night Truth Social posts, hours after sharing real footage of a fatal tiger attack on a man who entered the animal’s enclosure at a wildlife park in northern England.

Key Facts

The Truth Social post made shortly before midnight features an AI-generated video that appears to parody the U.K. tiger attack footage but instead shows Trump chasing away the big cat and playfully wrestling with it.

The AI-generated video ends with Trump embracing the tiger while the song “The Lion Sleeps Tonight” plays in the background.

In a follow-up post, Trump shared another video comparing himself to a lion, which is shown fighting hyenas while a narrator declares it “the king of the jungle.”

The clip cuts between Trump’s speeches and shots of Democrats like former President Barack Obama, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, and California Gov. Gavin Newsom while the narrator mentions “jackals, hyenas…barking at him, laughing at him.”

The video ends with the narrator saying, “every once in a while the lion has to show the jackals who he is.”

The president posted a flurry of other clips after midnight, including one where a narrator talks about Trump being anointed by God to be the “caretaker” of the world, and refers to his opponents as “vipers” and “wolves.”

What Do We Know About Trump’s Earlier Animal Attack Videos?

Trump’s caption-less AI-generated tiger video was posted hours after Trump posted the original video of the fatal attack at the Yorkshire Wildlife Park near Doncaster, England, with the text “Don’t ever mess with nature! President DJT.” The president followed this up with another post featuring a video compilation of animal attacks on people, though some of the footage appeared to be AI-generated. Trump made the afternoon posts during his trip to Alaska, where he spoke at a rally in Wasilla, about 40 miles north of Anchorage.

Key Background

The tiger-chasing clip is the latest example of Trump sharing AI-generated images and videos on Truth Social, some of which have sparked major controversy. The biggest controversy erupted in April, when the president shared an AI-generated image that appeared to depict him as Jesus Christ, amid a very public feud with Pope Leo XIV. The post drew backlash from various groups, including some prominent Republicans, prompting Trump to delete it. Late in July, Trump made a spree of AI-generated posts that included threats against Iran and its oil terminals at Kharg Island, him posing with John F. Kennedy and one where Trump is depicted “saving” George Washington. A few weeks before that the president had shared a 90-second AI-generated video featuring himself as a doctor diagnosing “Trump Derangement Syndrome” among his celebrity critics. The clip featured deepfake depictions of Whoopi Goldberg and Rosie O’Donnell, actors Robert De Niro, Julia Roberts, Edward Norton, and John Leguizamo.
