Congressional leaders condemn political violence and offer prayers for Kirk

The Republican and Democratic leaders on Capitol Hill are condemning political violence and calling for prayers following reports that conservative activist Charlie Kirk had been shot.
Here’s what they’ve said:
Senate Republican Leader John Thune: “There is no place in our country for political violence. Period, full stop. Please join me in praying for Charlie Kirk.”
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer: “Political violence has no place in America. This shooting is horrifying, and I’m praying for Charlie Kirk and his family.”
House Speaker Mike Johnson: “Please join us in praying for our good friend, Charlie Kirk.”
House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries: “Political violence is NEVER acceptable,” adding: “My thoughts and prayers are with Charlie Kirk and his family.”
