The Senate Finance Committee is ramping up talks around how to advance its critical portion of the GOP megabill.
Chair Mike Crapo (R-Idaho) and Republican members of the panel will head to the White House Wednesday to meet with President Donald Trump on the tax component of the party-line domestic policy package, Senate Majority Leader John Thune said in an interview Tuesday.
Separately, Crapo met Tuesday afternoon with Thune and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent. The three men got together to discuss the tax provisions in the tax and spending legislation Republicans want to pass in the coming weeks to enact huge swaths of Trump’s agenda.
