Obama beats out Trump for most admired man in new poll
Hillary Clinton named most admired woman for the 16th consecutive year

Americans seem to prefer Obama over Trump. Sad!
According to Gallup’s Most Admired Man and Woman poll published Wednesday, former president Barack Obama remains America’s most admired man, besting current POTUS Donald Trump.
This marks the first time a sitting president didn’t win the annual survey, with Obama beating Trump 17 percent to 14 percent.
“Trump’s unpopularity is holding him back from winning the most admired distinction,” Gallup’s Jeffrey Jones wrote. “The incumbent president is the usual winner, since he is arguably the most prominent figure in the country — but when the president is unpopular, other well-known and well-liked men have been able to finish first.”
Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton have taken the top spot in the "most admired" Gallup poll.
Other names high on the list this year included: Pope Francis, Rev. Billy Graham, John McCain, Elon Musk, Michelle Obama, Oprah Winfrey, Elizabeth Warren, Angela Merkel, the Dalai Lama, Beyonce and Queen Elizabeth II.
Hillary Clinton was named the most admired woman for the 16th consecutive year, a title she’s held 22 times in total.
Clinton “remains arguably more prominent than other contenders,” Jones wrote. “However, retaining that stature may be more challenging in coming years with her political career likely over.”
But before the Clintons pop that champagne bottle, the poll also found that former President Bill Clinton, who topped the list from 1993 to 2000, fell off the top 10 list for the first time in more than 25 years.
Fun fact: Eleanor Roosevelt has held the Gallup title 13 times.
