Trump campaign advisers

Trump campaign advisers to host nightly Facebook live show through Election Day

By Kelsey Sutton

Donald Trump campaign advisers Boris Epshteyn and Cliff Sims will co-host a live nightly show on the Republican presidential nominee’s Facebook page every night through Election Day.

The show, which will begin at 6:30 p.m. ET Monday, will lead into 7 p.m. campaign rallies that Trump plans to hold almost every weeknight between Monday and November 8.

According to a Trump adviser, Epshteyn and Sims will host the nightly half-hour show from the Trump campaign’s “war room” in Trump Tower. The half-hour program will also include “Final Thoughts,” an opinion segment from conservative pundit and The Blaze show host Tomi Lahren.

The show is intended to serve as a lead-in to Trump’s rallies, which the campaign is also planning to broadcast live on Trump’s Facebook page for the remainder of the presidential campaign, the adviser said. It will also air at the same time as the nightly newscasts on the broadcast networks.

Monday night’s program will feature Trump campaign manager Kellyanne Conway and Sean Spicer, the communications director and chief strategist of the Republican National Committee. Subsequent programs will feature various Trump surrogates, as well as Trump’s children.

The program is the second such Facebook Live venture that the Trump campaign has tested out as an alternative to network and cable news outlets, which Trump has repeatedly said is biased against him. On the night of the final presidential debate last week, Epshteyn and Sims co-hosted a pre- and post-debate Facebook Live broadcast, which many suspected was intended to test out what a possible Trump media venture might look like if Trump were to lose the election. POLITICO learned then that Epshteyn and Sims came up with the idea for the pre- and post-debate show on Facebook Live two days before the final presidential debate.
