Pussyfooting

Trump campaign manager to GOP: Stop 'pussyfooting around'

By Louis Nelson

Donald Trump campaign manager Kellyanne Conway is tired of the “pussyfooting around” from Republican lawmakers who have distanced themselves from the Republican presidential ticket in recent days, calling on them to decide once and for all whether or not they support their party’s nominee.

“Well we want the support of anybody who’s going to publicly endorse us. But enough of the pussyfooting around in terms of, you know, do you support us or do you not support us?” Conway said Wednesday morning on ABC’s “Good Morning America.” “The fact is that some of these leaders have been wishy-washy.”

Among the Republicans Conway labeled as “pussyfooting” is House Speaker Paul Ryan, who on Monday told Republican members of Congress that he would no longer defend Trump nor would he campaign with him ahead of November’s presidential election. The Wisconsin Republican also told GOP lawmakers that "you all need to do what’s best for you in your district" when it comes to deciding whether or not to support Trump.

In abandoning Trump, Ryan joined other Republicans, including Sen. John McCain, Sen. John Thune, Rep. Jason Chaffetz and Rep. Mia Love, in distancing themselves from the Republican nominee.

The wave of Republicans bailing on Trump began last Friday, when The Washington Post published a video from 2005 on which the reality TV star can be heard making an array of vulgar comments about women. On the tape, Trump brags that he “did try and fuck” a married woman and describes how his celebrity status allowed him to sexually assault women without consequence.

“When you’re a star they let you do it,” Trump says on the tape. “Grab them by the pussy. You can do anything.”
