Falsely claims... Again...

Trump falsely claims CNN turned off camera during rally

By Hadas Gold

Donald Trump accused CNN of cutting off video of his Pennsylvania rally on Monday night, saying the network shut off its camera while the GOP nominee was telling a crowd of thousands about the news network's shortcomings.

Trump repeated a false claim he had tweeted earlier, that CNN had purposely manipulated a post-debate focus group to produce a pro-Hillary Clinton result.

"CNN is a disgrace,” Trump said.

Then, Trump claimed CNN had turned its camera off: "Oh, they just turned off their camera! So funny, they just turned off their camera. I love it!” Trump said.

But Trump was wrong. CNN was actually turning its cameras on, and was moments away from going live from the Trump rally with correspondent Sunlen Serfaty. Video from CNN’s broadcast and the raw feed from Trump’s rally confirm that sequence of events.

"CNN's camera is on. The reporter is doing a live shot right now. Trump is lying right now,” tweeted NBC correspondent Katy Tur.

Trump has regularly made the media a foil of his at his rallies. He complains that they refuse to show the crowds, though networks have asked for additional positions to be able to do so at the Trump rallies, requests that according to CNN, have not been fulfilled.

“This crooked media, they’re worse than she is,” he said, pointing to the media as the crowd booed and jeered.

The audience was also personally aggressive to some reporters, especially those from CNN.

"A man aggressively yells at CNN reporter telling her she needs more makeup over and over. He's 4 feet from her as his wife laughs along,” Tur tweeted.
