Water falling

Well now that spring is here and the weather is starting to get a little better, at least it isn't raining every day... I took a little time off work and drove out into the Columbia River Gorge to do a little hike near the Multnomah falls. Wohkeena Creek falls and the hike up to Devil's Rest and Angel's Rest is a very nice loop with lot of opportunities to look out over the Columbia River and walk past some nice water falls. The trail for the most part is very good, with a lower section that is paved and the upper a maintained rocky trail.

I saw people walking in sandals, I wouldn't do that but it can be done. The trail is going up most of the way to the top. Very little parts are flat so be prepared for the climb, but it is not that steep and the trail switches back so it isn't straight up.  Wohkeena Creek fall is the largest but there are several sections of falls and it is nice to feel the water spray as you pass.

Multnomah falls is just a little to the east and are much larger, but the bridge that passes below has been damaged and is closed so if you try to do the loop up to Devil's Rest and over to Multnomah falls, you will find it blocked and would have to extend your hike a few miles more. The hike to the top of Devil's and Angel's Rest is about 2 miles up, then about 1 to 2 mile over depending on which way you want to go. Coming down is fast and you will be amazed at how quick it takes.

As you walk look around at the birds and other wild life, there maybe deer in the area so keep a look out.
