Make Your Voice Heard

What You Can Do to Make Your Voice Heard on McCutcheon Right Now

Protests are quickly popping up in reaction to today’s Supreme Court decision in McCutcheon v FEC which struck down longstanding overall contribution limits on what individuals are allowed to give to candidates, political parties and political action committees. We’ll have more on the decision, including an essay from Bill, analysis of the majority and dissenting briefs, and other coverage soon, but in the meantime you can learn more about the specifics of the decision here and here, and access an annotated version of the majority decision from Mother Jones’s Andy Kroll here.

Groups like Public Citizen, Common Cause, MoveOn.org, Rootstrikers, Move to Amend and many, many others are up in arms saying that “the Supreme Court has once again sided with the wealthy and powerful and against the vast majority of Americans.” They are banding together to organize rallies around the country today to protest the decision and to give you the chance to speak out about the corrupting role that money plays in our political system.
