Finally the Oracle 72 was out flying yesterday... After the first sail had a breakage, the fixed foil was working just fine yesterday, lifting the huge cat out of the water in a light breeze. At this time of year, San Francisco is at it's best, not for sailing but just enjoying the late summer weather. The winds die out at the end of September and now the wind is more calm, but the massive cat was still able to get up and fly. It will be something to see when these boats are out in the 'big air' of the summer, when the "slot" is blowing 25 - 35 knots. The technology in these boats is something, they are so advanced it is quite remarkable.
