FBI Director Kash Patel ridicules Sen. Adam Schiff in shouting match

Kash Patel unloaded on Democratic Sen. Adam Schiff following repeated questions on whether the FBI director had fired agents for political reasons and on the bungled release Jeffrey Epstein case files.

The question that seemed to push Patel over the edge was Schiff’s continued badgering about Epstein and, finally, who made the decision to transfer Epstein’s former associate Ghislaine Maxwell, to a minimum security prison camp.

Patel told Schiff it was the Bureau of Prisons that made the decision.

“You want the American people to believe that? Do you think they’re stupid?” Schiff said.

Then, the shouting began.

Patel told Schiff that he was fighting the weaponization of the Justice Department “by the likes of you,” adding: “We have countlessly proven you to be a liar.”

“You are the biggest fraud to ever sit in the United States Senate,” Patel said, voice raised as Schiff attempted to speak over him. “You are a disgrace to this institution and an utter coward.”

As the gavel began hammering, Patel concluded: “You are a political buffoon at best.”

The hearing ended roughly 10 minutes later.

Following the tense hearing exchange, Schiff told reporters that Patel is embarrassing his agency and the administration.

“I think he knows that his incompetence has put his job on the line, so attacking me might help save his job,” said Schiff. “But he continues to be so incompetent and continually embarrass the FBI and the White House.”

“All of those attacks aren’t going to make a difference. It won’t save his job,” he added.
