Well I am back in town after a short weekend trip back to my old stomping grounds... Spent the weekend in Laguna Beach and Catalina Island. If you are ever in the Los Angles area and you want to do something different, yet easy, think of Catalina. The ferry is only about $40 each way, lots of hotels and beaches, hiking and other water activities. It is also kind of stuck in time, still a lot of Art Deco around and their famous tile. A very nice get away. I also spent a day in Laguna. Laguna beach is the quintessential Southern California beach town which still feels like the old days. It is very "high brow" now and you will see Ferrari's drive by just as easily as a Ford... But the beach is wonderful and walking the town is great. Here are a few pictures of the areas.
