What a fucking turd....

Roger Wicker said the Black woman nominated to the Supreme Court by Joe Biden would be the 'beneficiary' of affirmative action. He's doubled down.

"I'll let that interview stand," he says.

Sen. Roger Wicker (R-Miss.) is sticking to the remarks he made to a local radio show last week — saying that the Black woman President Joe Biden has pledged to put on the Supreme Court would be the beneficiary of affirmative action.

His original comments: Wicker was speaking to the conservative "The Gallo Radio Show" last week.

"The irony is that the Supreme Court is at the very same time hearing cases about this sort of affirmative racial discrimination while adding someone who is the beneficiary of this sort of quota ... The majority of the court may be saying writ large it's unconstitutional. We'll see how that irony works out."

Any regrets? Asked if he regretted the comments on Monday, the Mississippi Republican told the Capitol Hill pool: "I'll let that interview stand." He declined to answer when asked what he found so concerning about the pledge to nominate a Black woman.

Other Republicans don't agree: Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) said on CBS' "Face the Nation" over the weekend that he disagreed picking a Black woman would be affirmative action on its own. "Put me in the camp of making sure the court and other institutions look like America," the South Carolina Republican said. "You know, we make a real effort as Republicans to recruit women and people of color to make the party look more like America. Affirmative action is picking somebody not as well qualified for past wrongs."
