Trump: Congress wouldn't 'dare' leave without health care bill

By KELSEY TAMBORRINO

President Donald Trump applied pressure Monday on Congress to pass a "beautiful" health care bill, before lawmakers head home for August recess.

"I cannot imagine that Congress would dare to leave Washington without a beautiful new HealthCare bill fully approved and ready to go!" the president tweeted.

Lawmakers return to the Hill this week from a July Fourth recess, but they're still no closer to a deal to repeal and replace Obamacare.

The Senate GOP bill has stalled in recent weeks, with some senators floating possible exit strategies in case legislation can't be agreed upon, including repealing the law without a replacement plan laid out.

Over the weekend, Sen. John McCain told "Face the Nation" the bill is "probably going to be dead."

But repealing the controversial health care bill has been a campaign promise of Trump, and White House chief of staff Reince Priebus told "Fox News Sunday" that such a result would not be acceptable.
