States refusing to give info

Trump questions why states refusing to give info to election panel

By REBECCA MORIN

President Donald Trump on Saturday questioned why some states were "refusing to give information" to the president's panel investigating alleged voter fraud.

"Numerous states are refusing to give information to the very distinguished VOTER FRAUD PANEL. What are they trying to hide," Trump wrote on Twitter Saturday morning.

More than 20 states have refused to comply with a request from the Presidential Advisory Commission on Election Integrity, which was formed by the president to investigate his claims of illegal voting in the 2016 election, to release names, addresses, birth dates and party affiliations of registered voters in each state.

Trump has in the past blamed, without evidence, an abundance of illegal voting for costing him the popular vote in last year's general election.

Several weeks after the election, Trump tweeted: "In addition to winning the Electoral College in a landslide, I won the popular vote if you deduct the millions of people who voted illegally."
