Another stupid shit...

Gabbard vote expected Tuesday

John Sakellariadis

The Senate Intelligence Committee plans to vote on Tulsi Gabbard’s nomination as the director of national intelligence during a closed session on Tuesday, according to two people familiar with the plans.

Razor’s edge: Following a shaky performance in her confirmation hearing last Thursday, the former Democratic lawmaker faces an uncertain path out of the panel, which has a one-seat Republican majority. She is not expected to pick up any votes from the Democrats on the panel, and at least three Republicans — Sens. Jerry Moran of Kansas, Susan Collins of Maine and Todd Young of Indiana — are viewed as possible “no” votes.

Nothing out officially yet: A spokesperson for committee Chair Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) did not immediately reply to a request for comment. The two people were granted anonymity because they were not authorized to talk to the press about the plans.

Not the end: Gabbard’s bid to become the DNI won’t necessarily be over if she fails to win a majority on the Senate spy panel. But it would send a strong signal against her candidacy that could effectively nix any alternatives to bring her nomination to the Senate floor.

What to watch: how hard Elon Musk and MAGA die-hards go to bat for Gabbard ahead of the vote.

Musk unfurled several posts on X this weekend in support of Gabbard, while seeming to take aim at her skeptics. He called Young a “deep state puppet,’’ before later saying the two had an “excellent” conversation and he “stands corrected.”
