Fox News' Shep Smith reports on Gretchen Carlson lawsuit

After more than 24 hours, Fox News has addressed on air the bombshell news from Wednesday morning, that former Fox News anchor Gretchen Carlson had sued Fox News Chairman and CEO Roger Ailes for wrongful termination and sexual harassment.

The news was delivered in a straightforward manner by the channel's lead breaking news anchor Shepard Smith and in its own segment between commercial breaks.

"Fox News chairman Roger Ailes is responding to a lawsuit filed by lawyers for Gretchen Carlson, calling her allegations false and offensive. Gretchen Carlson is accusing it's of sexual harassment and wrongful termination after the company reports her contract was not renewed in June and claims former co-host, Steve Doocy, created a hostile work environment," Smith said before reading Ailes' statement and 21st Century Fox's statement.
